Houston Technology Consulting is an IT service provider. I ran two installers. One removed the WIA drivers. This uninstaller is available on Brother’s website and and could be downloaded from Brother’s website. The second I ran from the Brother Utilites. Once done, I removed all entries related to Brother in the Registry, taking care to make backups of every key I removed. I rebooted then reviewed the directories related to Brother, specially Program Files and Program Files x I didn’t see anything left over.

I downloaded a new copy of the installer from the website. I don’t know if this was strictly necessary. I did it just to remove any chances that I had done something to a previously downloaded installer since I had exploded the compressed copy and didn’t keep that compressed copy around.

I tested printing. I tested scanning. It all worked. The next problem came up when I took the laptop from an office I was working in back to the office where the user sits. I rebooted the computer. I switched the MFP back to Wifi the back to wired. As inexplicably as the connection was lost it came back. My sense is this has more to do with networking inside the building than anything, but I don’t really know.

In any case, the laptop doesn’t get much movement and I’ve left it that way. Regarding Revo.
